Description
Work as a team on a 75 head herd rotational grazing herdshare dairy farm and poultry operation. We produce raw dairy products (fluid milk, butter, and cream), 100% grass-fed/finished beef, free-range chicken eggs, pastured poultry, and honey as some of our farm products. Our farming practices do not use herbicides or pesticides.
Also on the farm is a portable sawmill which allows us to produce garden stakes and building materials for farm infrastructure projects.
We require someone who will take ownership of duties, work in all types of weather, self-motivated, pays strong attention to detail, ambitious, eager and willing to learn, dependable, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. These are long days in all kinds of weather conditions. The day ends when the work is completed, and all the animals are cared for.
Qualifications
Fence building, working with dairy/beef cattle & poultry, milking & bottling, assisting with calving and other medical, collecting/washing/packaging eggs, processing/packaging broilers, feeding/watering poultry, moving fence for cows (rotational grazing), packing for markets, deliver products to retail store & private customers, assist with maintenance and farm building construction, lift 50lbs repeatedly, and valid driver's license.
No tobacco use or vaping on farm, in housing, vehicles.
Benefits
Housing provided. Milk and eggs as a benefit in addition to discounted poultry and beef. $100/week stipend.
Serious inquiries only. Must have a strong desire to work with animals and realize this internship requires a lot of manual work in all weather conditions. Couples may apply but both parties must pull equal work and hours. 5-6 days/week. Cannot accommodate peanut allergies.
