Farm Manager (7150)

Sentli Center for Regenerative Agriculture is seeking a passionate grower to care for an 1.5 acre urban farm and food forest and to share the joy of regenerative farming with the local community. The urban garden currently has half an acre in organic vegetable production and close to 4,000 square feet of high tunnels. The goal is to expand the farm to meet the growing need for fresh local produce in regional food deserts that cover Hidalgo County. It’s a unique opportunity to be involved in the creation of a food forest that will have a lasting impact on the community.

This is a grant funded salaried full time position with 40 hours a week for a two year period starting on March 1, 2024. Work schedule depends on the growing season and needs on the farm. Some weekends may be required. Pay ranges from $37,440 to 42,000 depending on experience and education.

At least 2 years farm experience and 1 year farm management experience. Familiar with organic sustainable farming practices. Enjoys working outside in all weather conditions and has the ability to safely lift and carry 40 lbs and perform physical labor for hours at a time. Much of the work will be carried out alone, but some projects will require collaboration with team members and supervising. Experience operating a tractor is a plus. Proficient in Spanish. Comfortable addressing a crowd and public speaking. Passionate about regenerative agriculture and have a desire to make a positive impact on the local community.
