About the position:
The livestock manager leads our livestock crew in the daily operations and care of grass fed beef cattle and pastured poultry (laying hens, turkeys, broiler chickens) as well as poultry processing. We are looking for a professional that contributes to long term planning and brings thoughtful ideas and practices to our operation. The position requires an expertise in organic, pasture-based livestock systems, as well as an ability to train new farmers and quickly troubleshoot any problems that arise.
Responsibilities
Working with our team to execute daily tasks including:
Manage the livestock team
Raising poultry in succession
Raising laying hens
Monitor livestock health
Beef cattle handling
Rotational grazing
Poultry processing
Developing and implementing strategies that lead to productivity
Record keeping
