Description
Moving temporary fencing for ruminants, pigs, and chickens; Feeding livestock; Collecting eggs; Assisting in other aspects of the farm as needed. There is minor landscaping work, repairs, building, and operation of machinery.
OPPORTUNITY
Opportunity to be an integral part of an pasture/silvopasture-based livestock farm using regenerative grazing and mob grazing with a variety of livestock. Previous experience with livestock and equipment helpful but not required. Enthusiasm to learn a must. If you are passionate about livestock, soil, and human health, this position offers a great opportunity to gain experience and grow.
Qualifications
Candidates must:
· Be able to lift 50+lb.
· Be able to walk 3+ miles per day.
· Be able to start the day early (6am or 7am).
· Wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
· Possess high levels of energy & self-motivation.
· Be able to work well independently and with others.
· Be observant and able to see both the details and the whole.
· Be enthusiastic and have the ability to learn.
Must be able to:
Communicate clearly with other livestock crew members and farm leaders to keep all aspects running smoothly
Be tolerant of adverse weather conditions
Be tolerant of muck, dirt, manure, and all other smells and sensations
Follow multiple detailed instructions
Be observant and have attention to detail
Be able to adjust and change plans based on observation and circumstance
Be self-motivated and work alone
