Grower, farmer extraordinaire (7454)

This job posting is at Flowerwell, a flower farm located in Western NY (Rochester area).  We are looking for someone to join our farm team, ideally with experience in flowers, seed starting, and propagating.  Adittional knowledge in disease, pest and virus management a bonus. Love for flowers a must!  We work year-round, but hours are flexible in our quieter months. Part-time is an option, as is full-time.  Read more on our website. Flowerwell is a flower farm and design studio located in Brockport, NY.  The primary focus of our business falls into three categories- growing cut flowers for wholesale, growing and designing wedding flowers, and dahlia tuber production.  Additional aspects of our business include selling sweet pea seeds, holiday wreaths, and teaching wreath classes.  Flowers are at the heart of everything we do!

Responsibilities depend on skill level.  At the basic level, being a member of our farm team (planting, weeding, harvesting, etc.).  More advanced levels would be seeding, transplanting, propagation, disease and pest management, nutrient management, dahlia program, etc.

Must be able to lift, work outside in all forms of weather, etc.

We would like someone with some farm or nursery experience.  Wage rate will be based on skills and experience
