Description
This APPLE ORCHARD MANAGER will perform manual labor and a variety of duties on the farm. Participate in planting, cultivating, harvest and more. Work with the owners until trained, operate equipment, maintenance of equipment, and attend to animals when needed. Must be willing to learn practical orchard experience every day. Work well alone or with others. Be self-motivated and value working hard to be part of our team. Weekends are required during apple harvest and occasional busy weeks. Participation in our events is also expected.

Apple Orchard Manager
Wellwood Orchards has approximately 70+ acres of apples, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, peaches, plums, grapes, pears and fall squash as well. Our retail store is a popular stop for our handpicked produce, homemade canned goods, fresh pressed cider, gift items, candies, fudge, cheese, our famous apple cider donuts, pies and other baked goods. We have a petting zoo as well.
Wellwood Orchards is an affordable, wholesome venue for the young and old alike. Our family owned Pick Your Own farm has an established customer base and we continue to grow in the agritourism market with our seasonal community events.
Responsibilities
Supervision, Maintenance of orchard, operating equipment, maintaining equipment, maintain grounds and infrastructure, harvest, plant, record keeping, applying chemicals as need via our IPM program, prune fruit trees, ground preparation for planting i.e. harrowing , and plowing. Winter snow plowing of grounds, wood splitting, etc.
Work collaboratively with other senior management.
Qualifications
3-5 years Apple Orchard maintenance experience preferred.
US valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm except harvest season when schedule changes temporarily.
