Caretaker/Landscaper Couple (7051)

In search of a couple to maintain a 36 acre estate in North Florida along with barn that houses a small cat colony as well as caretaking of the cats and any other animals as needed.

A truck will be supplied for work and work errands.

A nice, 1,000+sqft, one bedroom apartment provided with utilities included in exchange for daily cat feeding and area cleaning.

Small Family Estate in Florida. Our weather is hot and humid with mosquitos as big as your head (not really).  We have hurricane season each year that can make a big ole mess around the property.  But, we also have great fishing, beaches, lakes and rivers. We're beginning a small scale fruit tree orchard.  If you have a horse or two, we have space for them.  We love dogs, cats & all animals.

Extensive fencing maintenance, overseeing the mowing crew for approximately 25-30 acres, edging, blowing and weeding.  Overall property maintenance of entire estate.  General handyman duties for barn, unoccupied stables, main home and two smaller residences.  Weekly cleaning of main home and guest house.  Experience with organic gardening (very small scale) and fruit trees a plus, but not necessary.  This is not a complete list, there will be additional duties as needed.  A love of all animals is a must.  These positions are one full time and one part time.

Couple needs to be capable to work and communicate with other maintenance crews and family as needed.  Successful applicants will have a positive work ethic, high integrity, an eye for detail, trustworthiness, and strong communication skills.  They will be self-starters able to work without supervision, teachable, friendly, accountable and like-minded with family.  Three or more years of experience is preferred.

Must have a valid Driver's License

Minimum 3 years experience preferred.  Must enjoy working outside in the heat of summer and cold of our very short winters (our temps rarely reach below freezing more than a few days annually).

Background checks are required, but we will not necessarily exclude anyone with past MINOR bruises.

Typical work week will be one FT (35/40 hrs wk) and one PT (10/15 hrs wk) at $15 per hour, plus annual paid vacations.
