Dairy Herd Manager (7525)

Herd Manager position available at a family dairy & veg farm milking 275 cows in robots. Herdsperson will work with farm owners to provide herd health care including for sick cows, calving, dry cows, etc, as well as working with the calf feeders to provide sick calf care. The herdsperson is also responsible for heat detection and tracking reproduction for cows and heifers. The herdsperson will work with our AI tech, vet, nutritionist, and hoof trimmer.

Herdsperson should have knowledge of dairy cattle biology and typical farm operations. We expect experience with most herd health tasks like dystocias, IVs, record keeping, etc. Herdsperson must be able to communicate cooperatively & regularly with other dairy employees and consultants like the vet. They must also be comfortable learning our particular protocols and how to operate Lely manure and milking robots. Skidsteer, trailering, or dairy Spanish skills are a bonus but not required.

Pay based on experience. On-farm housing including utilities is available. Other benefits available after a qualifying period. We are willing to train to fill in some skills gaps, and we also support off-farm training opportunities for skills advancement.
