Description
Central Georgia Equine Services, Inc. is a veterinary clinic devoted to the care of horses (and the occasional donkey). We need qualified individuals to care for our patients.
Stable attendants provide custom rations for horses. They ensure that each horse is properly fed.
Stable attendants clean our equine facilities including stalls, exercise pens and paddocks.
Stable attendants assure that each horse has clean fresh hay and water at all times.
Stable attendants move horses from stalls, pastures and paddocks as needed based upon the individual needs of the horse.
Stable attendants assist with facility maintenance including but not limited to cleaning water troughs, fans, stables and equipment.
This position requires horse handling skills, walking, lifting of 50lbs, pushing a loaded wheelbarrow and handling hay. The weather can be variable including summer heat, winter rain and dusty conditions.
Qualifications
Stable attendants must have horse handling skills. You must be able to halter and lead horses.
Stable attendants must be able to lift 50lb feed bags and square bales of hay. You must be able to push a loaded wheelbarrow up a ramp.
There is a large amount of walking. This work is outside, sometimes it is beautiful and sometimes it is not. Georgia weather includes high heat and humidity, cold rain and freezing temperatures.
You must have a drivers license and be legal to work in the US.
Benefits
No housing or health insurance is provided. This job is part time and is ideal for high school and college students. Students will gain considerable experience to enhance college applications for veterinary school.
