Farm Animal Caretaker (7298)

Do you like farm life?  Are you a seasoned steward of animals and people who communicates well?  Can you lift 100 pounds with your hands?  Are you quick on your feet and a keen observer with good common sense?  Can you work in all weather conditions either alone or with a team?  Are you handy at fixing fences, stalls, etc.?

If so, this full-time animal caretaker position may be for you.  Salary ranges from $42-$68K per year, depending on experience and job performance.  A furnished modern 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house may be available for the right candidate.  No smoking permitted.  Must have satisfactory work references and prior farm animal experience, preferably with sheep.  No animals slaughtered here.

Kaizen Parks Care Farm is a mixed flock farm with primary focus on wool sheep.  In the next year, God willing, the farm will open on a limited basis for Christian fellowship and therapeutic animal interactions.

This is a labor intensive position that requires good common sense and resourcefulness.  You will need to muck stalls, unload 100 pound feed bags, and lift animals for weighing other purposes.  Record keeping and medical assistance for animals under supervision are major components of the job.   A detailed listing of the required tasks is available for serious candidates.  Text 240-7065143 for further information.  Please note:  The successful job candidate must be willing to work for 7 days a week, with some days shorter than others.   Vacation days must be planned in advance and are limited.

Driver's license in good standing.

Satisfactory work references.

Degree in agriculture, environmental sciences, social services or related fields desirable.

Prior work experience with sheep highly desirable.

Must have prior farm experience or demonstrate relevant skills and have references.

Certification as a vet tech desirable.

Certifications to handle heavy machinery desirable.
