Job Description
We are looking to fill two part-time farm crew member positions to help us with the production, harvest and marketing of vegetables, fruit, herbs, cut flowers, eggs and our value-added products. The farm crew member will be involved in all aspects of running a small diverse farm including livestock management, orchard maintenance, selling at farmers markets and depending on experience, beekeeping and infrastructure projects.
- Growing season May 1 through October 15 with the potential for some off season work
- 8:30 – 4:30 pm spring and fall / 7:30 am to 3:30 pm summer
- The number of days per week and weekend hours required are negotiable.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Crop Production and Sales—Seed propagation, sowing, bed preparation, transplanting, weeding, mulching, cultivating, fertilizing, staking, trellising, harvesting, washing, packing, marketing and selling fruits, herbs, vegetables and flowers. Participation at farmers markets including packing, hauling, booth set up, selling and breakdown. Good customer service skills and ability to be an ambassador for the farm.
Livestock Management– Monitoring the health and well-being of our small flock of laying hens, feeding, watering, collecting eggs, moving fences and pasture enclosures, cleaning and restocking bedding in coop and sand in chicken run. Depending on experience and interest, weekly bee hive inspections.
Infrastructure Related Projects -- Depending on experience with equipment and tools and interest, projects will involve construction and maintenance of infrastructure, establishment of livestock enclosures, high / caterpillar tunnels, irrigation set up, electric deer fencing, compost management.

- Hardworking, self-motivated and willingness to learn
- Excellent time management skills, efficient with tasks and having a sense of pace and urgency
- Be observant and detail-oriented with all aspects of work
- Direct and clear communication abilities
- Physical labor capacity, including lifting up to 40lbs
- Be punctual, positive and prepared to work in all weather conditions
- Any experience with farming, livestock, flower production or arranging, spreadsheets and social media is helpful, but not required

- Hourly Wage of $16.50 to $20 depending on qualifications and experience.
