A little about the business: We are a diversified farming operation of grain, forage crops, and livestock located in North West Indiana (Newton County, Indiana). We are multi-generational family farm that prides itself on a long history of being progressive trend-setters. We have a passion for agriculture and taking care of our land, our people, and our community.
What you would be doing:
Operate field equipment such as tillage, planting, fertilizer application, and semi driving
Maintain an organized work area and shop along with developing practices to improve shop organization
Helping with livestock and their facility and maintenance.
Perform ground maintenance including mowing and basic facility maintenance
Maintain accurate field records, inventory, and weight tickets
Assist with loading grain and maintaining grain bins
Perform light maintenance and preventative maintenance on implements, trucks, and equipment
Perform daily preventative maintenance checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall inspection
Qualifications
Experience in operating heavy equipment and mechanical experience in agriculture, construction, military, or a relatable field.
Valid driver's license required and Semi truck experience preferred/willing to learn.
Proven ability to be proactive in completing work and willingness to learn.
Ability to work extended hours and weekends especially during peak season.
