Surrounded by state and national forests, Cantrell Creek Trout Farm is located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. The ideal candidate likes working outside, in and around water, with people and trout.
We are looking for a jack of all trades. The Farm Maintenance Technician supports the Production Manager in running and maintenance of farm.
Responsibilities
The FMT will be responsible for maintenance of buildings and grounds, in-house vehicle maintenance, scheduling of maintenance by sub-contractors, small equipment maintenance, and special projects. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Qualifications
The FMT is expected to lift materials up to 75 lbs, work indoors and outdoors, in and around water in varying climatic conditions year-round. Must have clean driving record and background check. Must drive manual transmission. Mechanical/ plumbing/ automotive/ construction skills required.
Experience Requirements
Prefer 2+ years' experience in construction, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, automotive repair, electrical.
Educational Requirements
Minimum high school diploma. Prefer technical college, AA certificate or more.
Skills
Basic mechanical skills. Small engine upkeep/repair. Automotive basic skills. Landscaping. Plumbing. Basic electrical. Driving manual transmission, zero turn mower, excavator. Construction, carpentry, concrete work.
Can use Excel spreadsheets to record and track data.
Benefits
Schedule: 40 hrs per week, including occasional weekend days
Full time salaried position. Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off, insurance. Housing is also provided.
In addition, clothing and gear required for various farm duties will be provided.
