JOB SUMMARY

The Farm Foreman I, under general supervision, supervises and participates in farm work including the care of animals and protection of crops.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages data collection and record keeping of animals or crops.
  • Operates vehicles and farm equipment including combines, tractors, tillage implements, sprayers, shredders, planters, etc., in performing research and crop production duties.
  • Compiles and distributes data.
  • Oversees the feeding, and care of farm animals.
  • Performs and manages fencing, welding, cleaning, and construction to keep all facilities in optimum working condition.
  • Assists in coordinating repairs, maintenance schedules and proper maintenance of all farm equipment to maintain safe and efficient equipment.
  • Assists in coordinating and assigning daily work schedules for employees.
  • Assists in purchasing supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining the grounds of the farm, pesticide storage, safety procedures, and ensure that workers use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Supervision of other employees
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Education – High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience – Two years of related experience in farming and/or agriculture.

Knowledge of – Livestock and field work.

Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to evaluate the health of animals.

Licensing / Professional Certification – Valid Driver License.

Physical Requirements – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

SCHEDULE:

Work beyond normal business hours and/or work on weekends based on the needs of the ranch.
