Ranch Hands (7232)

The Ranch, encompassing 700 acres, is looking for an experienced and motivated Hand to join our team near Ely, NV. Our ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge and be self-sufficient while being a team player. In this role, you will help with daily activities, including maintenance, planting, harvesting, and animal care. As the Ranch Hand, you can follow directions and will take the initiative to get the job done in a timely manner. This is a full-time opportunity that includes free housing and utilities. The ranch is located in a mountainous area with a lake and is a remote pristine area. Most importantly, we consider this a peaceful way of life so this employment requires well-matched attributes.

The Ranch is a family-owned property located about 50 miles north of Ely, Nevada. The ranch currently has or has had, turkeys, guinea hens, and chickens. There is a man-made lake on the property that is stocked with fish and maintained regularly. Other features of the ranch include an obstacle course, a gun range, an amphitheater, and a greenhouse. During the summer, the ranch offers the land for various youth group activities, such as camping and team-building events.

Ranch Hand Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment, such as tractors and machinery
• Plant, cultivate, and harvest alfalfa
• Tend to animals such as chickens, turkeys, fish, and guinea hens
• Maintain a clean environment
• Monitor and care for livestock
• Feed animals and provide water
• Perform general labor duties as needed
• Ensure safety standards are followed

Ranch Hand Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a similar environment
• Knowledge of agricultural practices
• Able to lift heavy objects
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Able to work odd hours
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
