Stable Hand (7452)

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Weekend Stable Hand to join our team, supporting the daily operations of our boutique hunter/jumper show barn. We have openings for both Saturdays and Sundays.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work outdoors, care for animals, and assist with farm maintenance during weekends. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal husbandry, have a love for animals, and thrive in a hands-on environment. Your efforts will ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our animals while maintaining the smooth operation of farm equipment and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Turning out/Turning in of our lovely 16 horses with two of our talented stable hands to assist you.
• Assist with cleaning stalls, paddocks, and barns to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
• Supervise or assist with animal handling activities during routine checks or special procedures.
• Lunging knowledge is a plus.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, as this job requires heavy lifting of grain bags and hay.
Skills
• Proven experience in farm or stable environments is highly desirable.
• Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, power tools, welding, and equipment repair are not necessary but are an advantage.
• Strong animal husbandry skills with a focus on equine experience and animal handling techniques.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Customer service experience
• Prior horse experience is a must!
• Must be 16 years or older with a valid drivers license and transportation to the farm.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 12.0 per week
