Apple Picker (7478)

We are seeking an experienced Apple Picker to join our Orchard Team to pick apples from over 5000 trees across a 200 acre farm. Please do not apply unless you have direct, referenceable experience working in a commercial orchard picking fruit, specifically apples. While at work you may enjoy the changing weather in MA, working primarily outdoors with great views from our apple orchard, picking bushels of apples from June through October. This is full time yet seasonal - 20 week position. Lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing up and down ladders all day, exposed to the hot and humid summer with bees and insects that are attracted to the fruit. Physical fitness and stamina is required. Care of the apples is critical as they bruise easy and so must be picked and handled delicately.

Duties

Picking Apples into bushel containers then carefully depositing them into bins
Lifting, moving and climbing ladders is required as the trees are up to 20 feet tall
Orchard care may involve mowing, weeding, bending over, with frequent and repetitive motions
Washing, sorting, bagging of apples
Picking vegetables, packaging, moving boxes
Following safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications

Must have: Previous apple picking experience
Care and attention to detail while picking
Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
Able to communicate and understand basic English
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends
Local to Wrentham MA for commuting with reliable transportation.
