Description
Grain and cattle farm in Central Montana seeks help with grain and cattle production and, just as importantly, with farm upkeep. We are a family farm and we try to keep one to two full time employees. Salary is paid once monthly and will depend on experience but we try to be flexible.
Some of the work that you may be asked to do includes, but is not limited to, the following work: building and fixing barbed wire fence, mowing weeds, calving, cleaning equipment, haying, fixing old equipment and performing minor building repairs, picking up trash, assisting with grain production, cattle and animal care, mucking out stalls and sheds by hand, and other assorted work.
We use horses for cattle work, and if you have your own horse, we will be happy to discuss you bringing it with you. However, PLEASE NOTE that this is NOT a cowboy job and the majority of the work will NOT be done horseback. Cell and internet service is limited, and we are in a fairly isolated location. Recent farm experience is strongly preferred.
You must be willing to work on your own or with others and take directions well. We are seeking someone who will help contribute to a tidy farm appearance.
Drug, alcohol, and smoke-free workplace. You must have your own truck and a valid, insurable driver's license. Resume and references are required. This is not a guest or dude ranch, and we can't provide housekeeping or meals, but can discuss housing.
Experience Requirements
Some recent farm or ranch experience is strongly preferred.
